OROS dinky
Have you had your hands on an OROS dinky lately? Read the list of ingredients on the back? Scare yourself and do!
What is an OROS dinky?
The OROS dinky is a”mango flavoured drink” with the familiar orange OROS man on the front. The child came home from creche with a party pack yesterday. Amongst all the other sugar, was this “manufactured” drink. In this case, the familiar fat orange guy was sitting in a purple boat with a red rim and a yellow sail with the word “OROS” in red. As we usually do, we read the ingredients.
List of ingredients in the OROS dinky mango flavoured drink, taken from the back of the pack:
Ingredients: Water, Sugar, Mango puree, Acidifying agent (E296), Flavourant, Preservatives: Sodium benzoate (E211) & sulphur dioxide (E220) & Potassium sorbate (E202), Colourants (E104, E110), Sodium cyclamate (E952) & Sodium saccharin (E954) (Non-nutritive sweeteners)
Target market
I could be wrong, but this drink is aimed at the children. I will add some more info on each of the above ingredients, and then consider the target market.
