Boere Sushi

Here is two alternatives to sushi which can be made when fresh is unavailable:

  1. Take a relatively fresh piece of biltong. The outside should preferably just be hard with a soft inside. Carefully away the hardened outer area, to leave the soft inside. Slide this like you would any other type of fish.
  2. Use dry biltong. Drier is better. Grind in a to make a fine powder. Spread on as normal. Sprinkle the powdered biltong thinly on the rice. If the layer is too thick, the will come undone. Roll as normal.

Both these go very well with cheese. Let me know if you tried this.
