(Security) Theatre without seats
Management at the Brooklyn Shopping Mall removed all the benches, located in various places in the mall. This was done, allegedly, because criminals used the benches to scout targets in the mall. It was not done, management says, to force footsore shoppers into restaurants. Reality is, that criminals are now forced to either stand around or use other hightech means to observe their targets. Stores in the mall are, however, still free to provide observation posts for would-be criminal masterminds…
